What an awesome Holiday Party we had last Friday...Pictures below!! We had well over 100 people come through and enjoyed fellowship, drinks and pizza!! The Grinch even paid us a vist!! Thank you to everyone who came by and those that were here in spirit!!
When I started the planning for OCF, one item in my Business Plan is: "Oak City Fibers plans to attract customers of all different ages, genders, race, budgets, and experiences in the fiber arts world, plus attract new enthusiasts as well. OCF plans to connect and unite the older fiber arts customers with the younger rising generation for them to collaborate together and learn from one another." I was blown away this past Saturday when I had two prodigies, Keegan and Maria in my shop! Keegan, a 10 year old young man who knits, crochets, spins, and does needle point. Maria, a 98 year old hispanic prodigy, who just finished 6 months of chemo and is losing her sight but is determined to knit her daughter a cowl for Christmas. She said "I'm old but I've got a lot of life left in me"! I was literally about to cry or shout at the same time!! The Goal has been reached and is evident every single day at OCF!! Chris and I are extremely grateful!
Be Kind in all things and remember, Support Local or Local won't be here!! See you at "The OCF" soon! Happy Day! Glen
