Happy Day!!! I hope you've experienced some fun and happy fiber time this past week! We love when ya'll come in and spend time in the shop just hanging out!! The "Circle of Kindness" is a wonderful space where we all share and sometimes just listen to "Alexa" haha!! Oak City Fibers is always open to you visiting regardless of the yarns you're using so please feel free to drop by and relax, release, and enjoy friends in the circle! Our 'new name tags' came in from Katrinkles along with some new notions and 'fun stuff'!! Classes are being planned and scheduled for Kickoff in January 2024!! We've got classes in Socks, Sweaters, Techniques and correcting mistakes all lined up for 2024 and putting the finishing touches on the class calendars this week for knitting and crocheting! Fiber Top provided by our local dyer and spinner, Joyce, Touch of Fiber has brought in new inventory as well so keep an eye out for that at the front door!
The KAL of Oak City Fibers Special Colorway the "One-Skein-Crescent Shawl" by Brian Smith is going great on Wednesdays KAL's (Afternoon and evening) and Winey Wednesday is a huge success!! We started the Crochet-A-Long this past week as well. The pattern is gorgeous! (https://ravel.me/sweater-wrap-scarf ) and if you've not cast on yet, please come by the shop and purchase your yarn for this fun and functional project!!
Please remember, ANYTIME the doors are open at OCF, you are welcome to work on any project. You're most welcome to come to Winey Wednesday regardless of participating in the KAL's or CAL's! We do plan to have the November KAL finished by end of November & CAL will continue through December! We will start a new KAL for December. The proposed project has lots of textures and is so much fun!! Watch out for the announcement of that one so you can come grab your yarn and get started first of December. I've also met with 2 great ladies that will be teaching fabulous classes in Knitting starting in January so please keep following us for updates on those opportunities!! We will have Winey Wednesday's every week from 5:00-7:30p.m. (Excluding this Wednesday, November 22, 2023 as we will be closing that afternoon at 3:00 p.m. for Thanksgiving Holiday).

I've restocked all the yarns that were purchased during the Grand Opening and the hooks are packed full again!!! I've also got New Yarn bases coming in this week from Moondrake -Mohair and more!, Twisted Willow is on the way with Linen Singles and Plush DK, and Jill Draper -Mohonk! Lumos Lights are coming in and I've stocked "Floops" stitch markers and "Flox" multi-tools!! Come check those out as they're wonderful gift ideas for the upcoming Holiday Season!
I am expecting a brand new Indy Dyer / Sheep to Skein Yarn arrival tomorrow, Monday, 11/20/23 so when that actually arrives, I will be making a video to show everyone!! It is GORGEOUS and you will love it!
Announcing my first TRUNK SHOW at The OCF!!! Queen City Yarns will be on-site December 9, 2023!!! WOOHOO!! Janis and I have been working together for a few months to get this all setup and it is going to be a fantastic time together!! I will be posting pics of what they will have for your shopping pleasure that day in the coming weeks so keep your eyes peeled for updates on the Trunk Show!
*Reminder* MARK YOUR CALENDAR!!! Oak City Fibers will host it's first "Holiday Party". The event will be on Friday night, December 15, 2023, 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Chris and I will be hosting an 'appreciation' dinner and will be providing Pizza for everyone! Please bring your own drink of choice and if you'd like to bring a dessert to share with fiber friends, please let Glen know!! We will provide all the paper products and the classroom will be our dining room! We hope you will come out and enjoy a relaxing time of crochet, knitting, eating and laughter!
