Oak City Fibers News 01/01/2024

A Note from Glen

Happy Day!!! Happy New Year!!!

We are planning for a great 2024 year of fun at Oak City Fibers!
I am continuously adding Classes to our calendar. There are lots of choices currently on the website for January and some through March 2024. You can purchase online or come in the shop to register! Click the "Classes" hyperlink in previous sentence to see the schedule! They're filling up fast so reserve your spot today! We've extended the free pattern offer for the "Block a Month" Class to January 10, 2024!! We're always willing to help you when you walk in at OCF with any project, however, if you want personalized, private help, We have created our "Knit Clinics" available for individualized instruction or help on projects. There is a small fee for private instruction so call the shop and schedule those times at your convenience. Likewise, we are always offering Beginning Knit and Beginning Crochet Class as a private 1:1 class in our classroom. You could reserve a private time with one of our instructors at your convenience and learn without interruption!! Just speak to Glen, Ann or Elizabeth and we will set it up!

Join us beginning next Wednesday, 1/3/24 for our first KAL in 2024, and for Winey Wednesday and/or dinner. We will work on the "Wrapped Up in Cables Sweater"! This pattern is a popular style providing warmth and comfort, along with a great fashion statement.  You will need 830-1025 yards of an aran weight yarn. Worsted or light chunky are good substitutes. The pattern indicates an intermediate level, but after reading the pattern, we believe this is a great jumping off point for cables and easy lace for a confident beginner. Come pick out your worsted weight yarn at OCF (Berroco Vintage, Malabrigo Rios, Twisted Willow Worsted) and join the fun!! The KAL group(s) meet on Wednesday's from 1:00p.m.-3:00p.m. or 5:00p.m.-7:00p.m. Remember, you are welcomed anytime the doors are opened at OCF to sit and knit!! The shop is open on Wednesdays until 7:00p.m. every week!

KNITTYNATTY from YouTube will be at Oak City Fibers THIS WEDNESDAY, January 3, 2024 after 4:00 p.m. for a meet/greet!! Come by and meet her if you can! Follow her on Instagram at: KnittyNatty
