Oak City Fibers will be CLOSED January 1, 2025 and reopen for normal business hours Thursday, January 2, 2025.
From the bottom of our hearts, Words can not express how much y'all mean to Chris and I. Today will mark our first full calendar year of being in business....Soooo many memories made, so much laughter, tears and stitching going on! So much growth in yarn offerings, classes, skills, friendships, and most of all COMMUNITY! I am truly awed at your ongoing support and showing up for us! Cheers to all this and MORE to come in 2025! Focus on Today, tomorrow will take care of itself!
Oak City Fibers Yarn Shop welcomes Rose Votkevich as our new Store Manager. Rose is very talented in both Crocheting and Knitting! Her main focus will be to manage the store. I will be there regularly but will work on focusing on procurement of new yarns, notions, bags, trunk shows, sponsoring & planning visits from Designers and taking some much needed time off before I burn out and become the 'Wicked" Witch and scream "I'm melting, I'm melting" haha!
She and I have plans and are making great progress to build the crochet part of Oak City Fibers. She will be leading all class setup (any class), working with the teachers to plan and schedule all classes for the shop, plus many other things! Rose will be building the shop sample displays for crochet and monthly Crochet-A-Longs. I am very excited to have her join us. Her first day is Thursday, January 2, 2025 so come in and introduce yourself and get to know Rose!
NEW YARN! NEW YARN! NEW YARN! 29 Bridges Yak Blend is here! Yakkity-Yak- Don't talk back! haha! As soon as I opened the restock of 29 Bridges last week and saw this as a sample, I had to get it. Y'all it is super nice and the color richness is beyond comprehension. Pictures do not do this one justice.
NEW 29 Bridges Lyrik Sock is a beautiful fingering weight, 3 ply yarn with 430 yds per skein. It is a soft blend of 60% superwash Merino, 20% Yak, and 20% Silk. I have 12 colorways stocked with it's matching 29 Bridges Aria Suri lace in the coordinating colorways. The Aria is a luxurious 435 yards blend of 40% Suri Alpaca, 35% Silk, 15% Merino and 10% Yak. Come in and see and touch this lovely yarn.
