Happy Day! LOTS going on at Oak City Fibers Yarn Store for June! It's PRIDE month and we are here to have some fun with fiber!
The circle always brings out a fun quote and continues to be such a great place to bring joy and happiness to others! Quote of the week: "I felt like a Yarn Orphan!". We continue to live, love and laugh!
We have Rick of Whimzee Stitches Designs coming for a Trunk Show of his beautiful yarn and bags on My Birthday (June 7), PRIDE MONTH Kick Off and the return of TRIANGLE YARN CRAWL on the SAME DAY!! Yes, Triangle Yarn Crawl is returning the weekend of June 7-9th, 2024! Mark your calendars and plan to come out and support the TYC and visit all the shops in the Triangle Area and let's party the whole weekend with fiber and possibly birthday cake! I will be having Special Discounts on MANY yarns and Giving away free prizes and free yarns throughout the weekend!

Our Knit-A-Long for June- PRIDE Month is 2 choices! You can pick one or do both! We are kicking off SOCK-IT-TO-ME-SUMMER Program to knit a pair of socks! We have PRIDE sock kits to purchase or you can create your own with choosing a PRIDE variegated mini-skein from Wonderland Yarns and pair it with other fingering weight yarns in the shop! What better thing to do or learn in the Summer months than to knit socks! Glen will be in the circle helping and teaching for free on how to knit socks! We have PRIDE themed variegated mini-skeins to do your cuff/heel/toe with to add a little fabulousness to a solid sock! You can choose a kit or pick your own colors! How cool is this? If you don't want to knit socks, we have selected the Midnight Wrap by Lucy Burns Designs! We have kits with PRIDE mini-skein sets of Noda Sock solids from Queen City Yarns paired with PRIDE by Wonderland Yarns "Happy Summer Days" Fingering weight skein of 475 yards to knit your shawl. This shawl is a fun cast on using DPN's and then knitting outwards adding in the stripes of solids in the mini-skeins. If you don't wish to use PRIDE colors, please feel free to pick other colorways/yarns and join in the fun! See shop sample pic below! You can work on the KAL ANYTIME you're in the shop or at home!
