Oak City Fibers Yarn Store News 04/02/24!

Happy Day! WELCOME QUEEN CITY YARNS to Oak City Fibers! That's right, you heard it here! Queen City Yarns(QCY) is now in stock at OCF! We received our first shipment of Coleman and it is selling quickly! Our bases for now, will be the Coleman and Latta! The Latta base should ship later this week or early next week! Also, Malabrigo Silkpaca will be in stock by end of this week as well! The luscious lace weight baby alpaca and silk will be on the "Wall-a-Brigo" as we have nicknamed it, with all our other Malabrigoyarns soon! Watch Instagram and Facebook for my video's! We have surpassed the 1000 Followers mark on both and I can't thank you enough!

We are working away on the Peaks and Pinnacles cowl pattern by Teri Bienvenue aka- BigYarnHo on Ravelry for March-April's Knit-A-Long! Come join in the fun on Wednesdays or any day of the week! I'm actually blocking mine today and plan on completing the join of the cowl in the circle of kindness on Wednesday. We meet on Wednesdays, 1:00-3:00 p.m. and also working on it during Winey Wednesdays! I've started a Knit-a-Long (KAL) on Thursday afternoons 2:00-4:00 as well. The Odyssey Shawl by Joji Locatelliis our Thursday KAL and we have several that have joined us for our first week with the Garter Tab Cast-On! Come to OCF anytime our doors are open to sit and knit and socialize. Everyone is welcome! Keep an eye out for our next Wednesday KAL announcement! I'm thinking Stephen West pattern!

**TRUNK SHOW ALERT**We have Ryan of Ryan Yarns, Indy Dyer set to join us for LOCAL YARN SHOP DAY on April 27th, 2024 @ 10:00a.m.!Ryan dyes gorgeous yarns and will be setup at the shop for the day. He is bringing lots of goodies so come see and support local !

The fundraiser for Project Linus at Oak City Fibers continues! Ann is hosting "Make a Granny Square" on Wednesday nights during Winey Wednesdays. Purchase your Berroco Wool DK at Oak City Fibers and make some granny squares, place them in the collection basket and when we get a bunch made, Ann will teach us how to join them and finish the blanket! Once it's all done, we will be donating the blanket to Project Linus!

Emma's Crazy Beautiful Club for April 2024 has arrived at OCF! Snag up your Practically Perfect Sock or Simply Spectacular DK skeins now before it's gone!

Jane finished her Brioche hat using 29 Bridges Merino DK! She used "East End" and "Prue" colorways! Excellent work! She took our Brioche class back in February and loved it!

Jane used the remainder of her 2 skeins of 29 Bridges Merino DK and completed this Brioche Cowl! Thanks Jane for your continued support and trying new techniques! You're awesome!

Michele saw our Shop Sample of "Sweatshirt Sweater" hanging on our wall so she purchased her Malabrigo Rios in the Anniversario colorway and knit it for herself! OMG the drape and color movement = Awesome! Thank you Michele!

Michele also purchased Malabrigo Rios in "Ravelry Red" colorway and made herself another "Ranunculus" top! This one was so pretty, I started to try it on myself for a pic in the newsletter! What ya'll think? haha! Great work Michele and I can never thank you enough for all your hard work and continued support! btw-I'll take one in blue!

Kelbourne Woolens; Scout; Oak City Fibers;

Sherry finished this cute Bunny Rabbit for her granddaughter, Ailesh. The yarn is Kelbourne Woolens- Scout in the colorway "Gray Heather" It knit up beautifully then she felted it! Great work as always, Sherry and thanks for choosing Oak City Fibers!

Joan finished this cute "Mini-Unbearable" hoodie for her grandkid! She used Malabrigo Arroyo and it turned out sooo cute! Thanks Joan for supporting Oak City Fibers from afar and stopping in when you come in town! Always good to see you!

Oak City Fibers is a proud sponsor of "Knitted Knockers" We continue to support local knitters and crocheters plus The Triangle Fiber Guild. Through the combined efforts of many dedicated crafts people, 23 knitted knockers are complete so far this year! Most of them were made with my favorite, Universal Bamboo Pop. They have been stuffed, labeled, and sorted. They are ready for a new home and donated this morning to UNC Rex Volunteer Services here in Raleigh, NC. Thanks to all who have started knitting these patterns! Thanks to Lacey McWatters for her continued work with the Knitted Knockers Program!

Alyssa finished this shop sample of the Ranunculusin our Twisted Willow Linen Merino Twist(worsted) in the colorway "Antibes"and it's actually lite and fluffy. She used just over 2 skeins for this size small. Feels great for a summer top! We also have the same colorways in Twisted Willow Linen Merino Singles which is a fingering weight.
