Crochet an adorable Baby Sea Tutrle Keychain with Eri and Amy, and open your skillset to the fun world of African flower animals! This is an original design by Eri.
In this one class session, you will learn how to make African flower motifs and how to sew pieces together. We will also use amigurumi techniques to complete the turtle’s head.
Your instructor will be Eri Farbstein, a talented fiber artist from Japan. You can check out her other African flower creations on Instagram @eleviejapan.
This project looks small, but don’t be fooled! We will provide all the yarn required for the class.
This class is recommended for INTERMEDIATE crocheters who have the following skills: Magic Ring, SC, DC, SS, SC INC, SC DEC, and how to follow a crochet pattern.
For the example project, we used Malabrigo Rios yarn from Oak City Fibers.

Time: 10:30-12:30
**If you want to use other yarn, it MUST BE purchased from Oak City Fibers**
Pattern will be provided in class.
Class size - minimum 2 -- maximum 10.
Students will learn how to...
● Create African flower motifs of various sizes
● Complete a dc2tog and spiked dc
● Sew motifs sturdily together to prevent future tearing
● Stuff crocheted animals
● Create french knots with yarn
Supplies Needed for Class:
● 3.5mm crochet hook
● Yarn needle (for sewing)
● Stitch markers
● Scissors
Eri Farbstein is a talented fiber artist from Japan who attended fashion school. Her
specialties are crochet, tatting lace, and hardanger embroidery. After marrying a man from the USA, she moved to Raleigh with the dream of learning English and starting her own crochet business. Right now, she teaches crochet and beginner sewing classes.
