Crochet a Baby Sea Turtle Key Chain October 26, 2024
Crochet an adorable Baby Sea Tutle Keychain with Eri, and open your skillset to the fun world of African flower animals! This is an original design by Eri.
In this one class session, you will learn how to make African flower motifs and how to sew pieces together. We will also use amigurumi techniques to complete the turtle’s head.
Your instructor will be Eri Farbstein, a talented fiber artist from Japan. You can check out her other African flower creations on Instagram @eleviejapan.
Please see materials students should bring to class. If an item is not listed, the teacher will be providing it. For the example project, we used Rios yarn from Oak City Fibers. RIOS YARN WILL BE PROVIDED by teacher and is included in the class fee. You do not need to purchase your own yarn for this class.

Prerequisites: This class is recommended for advanced beginners to intermediate students of crochet. Students must be familiar with creating a magic circle and using hdc, and dc.
Pattern will be provided in class.
Students will learn how to...
● Create African flower motifs of various sizes
● Complete a dc2tog and spiked dc
● Sew motifs sturdily together to prevent future tearing
● Stuff crocheted animals
● Create french knots with yarn
Supplies Needed for Class:
● 3.5mm crochet hook
● Yarn needle (for sewing)
● Stitch markers
● Scissors
Eri Farbstein is a talented fiber artist from Japan who attended fashion school. Her
specialties are crochet, tatting lace, and hardanger embroidery. After marrying a man from the USA, she moved to Raleigh with the dream of learning English and starting her own crochet business. Right now, she teaches crochet and beginner sewing classes.
