Welcome to the Brioche Knit Scarf Class, where you’ll dive into the rich, textured world of brioche knitting! This class is perfect for knitters who are eager to expand their skills and create a stunning, cozy accessory. In this class, you’ll learn the art of brioche knitting, a technique known for its luxurious, squishy texture and beautiful, reversible fabric. Whether you’re a seasoned knitter looking to add a new technique to your repertoire or your ready for a new challenge, this class will guide you through every step of creating a sophisticated brioche knit scarf.

The first-class session will focus on casting on and setting up the pattern, understanding the brioche knit stitch and the brioche purl stitch.

The second-class session will focus on fixing and correcting mistakes from knitting your scarf between classes.

The pattern is free and can be downloaded from Ravelry. Oak City fibers has started a group page on Ravelry where finished projects can be shared.

**THIS IS NOT A BEGINNER KNITTING CLASS**

Pattern: Basic Brioche Scarf

Materials Required:

  • 2 high contrast colors of worsted weight yarn.
  • Color 1: Approx 250 yards
    Color 2: 250 Yards
    Sample knit pictured is made with Malabrigo Rios
  • Some Scrap yarn for lifelines
  • Size US#8 16’’ Circular needles.
  • Second Size #8 needles recommended to help with decrease rounds.
  • 1 stitch markers
  • A Darning needle
  • Scissors

Class Policy -

  • Refunds or store credits for pre-paid class registrations can be made only if we are notified at least two weeks in advance of the beginning of class.
  • Missed classes will not be made up unless the instructor agrees or was unable to teach or the shop was unexpectedly closed.
  • Refunds or store credits for missed classes cannot be made.
  • We require a minimum of two students for each class; in the event that signups do not meet that minimum level, the class will be cancelled and we'll issue refunds for class registrations.
  • Classes are subject to being rescheduled due to inclement weather.
